This past weekend’s vintage show in downtown Los Angeles was our best yet with the most exhibitors in our history and our greatest attendance ever! We’re so excited to share the March 2013 A Current Affair photos with you we’re going to start posting them as they arrive from streetstyle photographer, HiStyley!
Here are just a few…head on over to the EVENTS PHOTO page to see more and be on the lookout for more additions this week!
Musician Nicole Simone, whose haunting music is inspired by the work of David Lynch, Tom Waits, and blues greats such as Howlin Wolf and Mississipi Fred McDowell will host the spring edition of A Current Affair. Nicole will curate and style 10 head-to-toe vintage looks from the show that will be on exhibit and available for purchase. She was captured by photographer HiStyley at the most recent A Current Affair show last December (image below). Nicole recently performed with members of Nouvelle Vague at David Lynch’s club Silencio in Paris. Her debut full-length record will be released this year.
Octavio Olivas is a lawyer by trade whose passion for ceviche led him to form his Los Angeles based pop-up Ceviche Project. Although he normally serves up in local restaurants, he will be on hand at A Current Affair’s spring show March 23 with 4 varieties of his specialty. Octavio’s love of ceviche began as a child in Mexico, where he would go fishing with his father and later eat their catch of the day. Since then he has traveled the world in search of new and inspiring preparations. He shops the downtown Los Angeles fish markets early each morning for the freshest and most exciting picks. We are so happy to welcome Octavio and Ceviche Project to A Current Affair and we can’t wait to see what he prepares for the show. For more on Ceviche Project and Octavio please visit their website.
Several exhibitors were not able to show at our Holiday event this past December but will be back for the spring show March 23. We’re happy to have Tavin, Sarah Steinitz, Handsome Oxford, 1860-1960 Vintage Fashion, Raggedy Threads, Fashion by Robert Black, and Lux Revival all returning for the upcoming show. Sarah Steinitz comes from Paris and brings the most exquisite vintage pieces with a heavy emphasis on French designers. Fashion by Robert Black travels from Scottsdale with showstopping gowns and separates from the 50s-80s, and Handsome Oxford comes in from the Bay Area and sells American made vintage menswear exclusively. The spring show will be the biggest yet with 44 booths filled with the best vintage clothing, accessories, jewelry, and eyewear.
We’ve been huge fans of Spanish Moss and their gorgeous vintage collections for a while, so we couldn’t be happier that they’ll join us for our spring show March 23. This will mark the first time the online shop will present in a retail setting. They’ll bring not only their coveted vintage pieces but also their newly launched vintage inspired collection American Gold. You can shop the goods in person for the first time ever at A Current Affair. Visit the Spanish Moss website for a preview of what you can expect at the show. You can buy tickets in advance or at the door. Early buying starts at 2pm and general admission is 3-8pm Saturday March 23.
